Southeastern Seaboard
Emergency Nursing Symposium

About SESS

The Southeastern Seaboard Emergency Nursing Symposium (SESS) is one of the best known national emergency nursing conferences held yearly.  The conference is the creation of Andrea Novak (NC) and Cathy Fox (VA).  SESS over the past 8 years has grown to a participate size of approximately 300 emergency nurses from across the United States.  SESS is also the only nationally known emergency nursing conference with a specific forensic track, offering three tracks in all:  Leadership, Clinical Issues and Forensics.

The very first SESS was held in April 2000, in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.  Four states first participated:  North Carolina, Virginia, South Carolina and Georgia.  Florida joined the conference the next year in Savannah, Georgia.

The SESS planning committee won the 2007 ENA Team Achievement Award for their ongoing dedication to this conference and emergency nursing.
